Merrily We Roll Along

Merrily We Roll Along was the last show I did during my second year at college, the sixth show I did at the Garrick and the final show of my course.
This musical was written by George Furth and the lyrics and music by Stephen Sondheim and is based on the 1934 play by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.
This show is about a rich, famous and inspiring producer and songwriter called Franklin Shepard (played by Elliot Lolley) whose life starting from a penniless composer to a wealthy producer is shown reversing back in time from 1976 all the way to 1957.
The show begins with a large ensemble dancing and singing "Merrily We Roll Along" which follows on to the scene where a wealthy, pompous party is in full swing following the premiere of Frank's latest, successful film. Frank's Hollywood peers give out lavish praise to him as if he were the number one famous president of film-producing ("That Frank")
